Members of the South Baylo University Community,

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am pleased to announce that Andrew S. Cho, J.D., M.P.H., has been appointed to serve as South Baylo University’s President.  Mr. Cho’s unique credentials, experience, and vision will build on decades of SBU’s exceptional accomplishments in fulfilling its educational mission.  He succeeds Dr. Edwin D. Follick who will continue to serve SBU as its Interim Library Director and will assist in the leadership transition.

Mr. Cho served as SBU’s Personnel Director during its early years at the Anaheim Campus.  He also served on SBU’s Board of Trustees and Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine Board of Directors.  From 2001 through 2004, he was SBU’s Vice President and General Counsel.  Mr. Cho is a seasoned attorney practicing law for a quarter of a century.

Mr. Cho earned the following degrees: B.A. in English Literature (UC Irvine), J.D. from Trinity Law School and Master Degree in Public Health (UCLA) with emphasis in Health Services Administration.  His post-secondary teaching experience includes a one year course in Evidence Law.

Given Mr. Cho’s academic history and business success, the Board welcomes Andrew S. Cho’s return to SBU.  I am confident that Mr. Cho’s character, proactive decision-making, legal expertise/knowledge and collaborative spirit will position SBU for further excellence.

“SBU has every reason to be optimistic about its future…it has endured many challenges and will become even better as it matures as an institution and further realizes its potential.  I feel it has unique aspects that students are seeking for AOM education and clinical training for practice in an increasingly integrative healthcare field,” Mr. Cho said. “I am excited to implement new social media initiatives, enrollment growth plans, clinical practice/patient information management systems and continuous quality improvement in learning assessment/program evaluation.”

Mr. Cho’s appointment became official on May 20, 2021.

Lastly, I am leaving my role as Vice President to provide additional commitment as Chairwoman of SBU’s Board, and to advance the school’s success and strategic vision.  I look forward to working closely with Mr. Cho, our executive team, and the Board of Trustees.

Jennifer E. Park, Ph.D.(China), L.Ac.
