Students will receive notice from their respective instructors on how to access the Google Classroom platform for each course.<\/p>\n<p>Please be advised that no member of SBU has tested positive for COVID-19. However, should you or a member of your household test positive, we urge you to notify SBU as soon as possible in order to maintain the health and integrity of our community and campuses. Dispose of the tissue.<\/li>\n<li>Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at home, work and school.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid close contact with people who are sick.<\/li>\n<li>If you are sick, stay home and do not travel or report to work.<\/li>\n<li>Practice healthy habits: Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids and eat nutritious food.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How does maintaining a \u201csafe distance\u201d from other people help prevent the disease from spreading? And what is a \u201csafe distance\u201d?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The best way to limit the spread of COVID-19 or any contagious disease, according to health experts, is to maintain a safe distance from other people. Remaining six feet away from others, wherever possible, can help prevent infections transmitted by an uncovered cough or sneeze and also by touching a contaminated surface. Avoiding large groups in crowded spaces is a scientifically proven way to lower the infection risk and the spread of a virus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What if I develop flu-like symptoms?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Flu symptoms include fever, cough and difficulty breathing. If you develop symptoms consistent with the flu or are concerned that you may have been exposed to COVID-19:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Students:<\/strong>\u00a0Call the administration office at 714-533-1495 or 213-738-0712.\u00a0 Students should stay at home, avoid attending classes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Faculty and staff:<\/strong>\u00a0Seek medical care from your health care provider. Please call ahead so that the facility may plan ahead to minimize potential spread.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Should I wear a facemask?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is no need to wear a facemask unless you have symptoms of an airborne infectious disease or are in prolonged close contact (about 3 feet) with a contagious person.
