Dear South Baylo University Community,
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am proud to announce that Bonifacio Bonny Garcia has been appointed to serve as South Baylo University’s new President, effective April 26, 2022. Dr. Garcia’s unique experience, energy and vision will build on the decades of SBU’s accomplishments in its educational mission and advance it into the future.
Dr. Garcia specializes in advising and guiding large and small educational institutions through challenging times. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from Harvard Law School, taught constitutional law history at Loyola Marymount University, and served on the Marymount California University Board of Trustees for 15 years. Dr. Garcia is the President of the Board of Directors of the Latino Film Institute, the President of the Board of Trustees of Opus Caritatis, Inc. and serves on the Board of Trustees of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc.
Given the success Dr. Garcia has achieved and the truly stellar recommendations he has garnered; our Board is enthused to welcome Dr. Garcia to the SBU community. We are confident that Dr. Garcia’s character, proactive decision-making, legal expertise, knowledge and collaborative spirit will position SBU for excellence times ahead.
